Filip Šír examines sound rarities and the history of sound recording. If we want to listen to the oldest sound carriers on which the Czech language is captured, we must move from the European continent to the United States. The first preserved recordings of this kind originated at the end of the 19th century in the environment of the rapidly growing Czech immigration community in the USA.
