Bertram Lyons

Bertram Lyons is a long-serving archivist and works as a senior consultant at AVPreserve, one of the world’s leading independent companies specialising in audiovisual preservation tools and procedures. He is also very active across many professional institutions including IASA, the SAA, ARSC and AMIA. Specialisation in collection acquisition, management and preservation, his experience with institutions such as the Library of Congress, American Folklore Society and the Smithsonian Institution will help in guiding New Phonograph toward become a leading presence in audio preservation for Central Europe. Having been directly involved in the development of innovative collection management and file integrity tools such as Fixity, Bert’s expertise will allow us to ensure digital objects are stored safely and accurately, while his guidance in policy-making will aid us in creating a robust environment which ensures operations are carried out in the best interests of our collection objects.
