Since 1985, she has been working at the National Museum &#8211; the Czech Museum of Music. From 1985-1988 she managed a non-classical manuscript collection and since 1989 she has been a curator of a notary archive (with the exception of 2004-2008). From 1990-2003, she was the deputy head of the music and historical department, and from autumn 2003 she became head of this department. Since 2008 she has been deputy director of the Czech Museum of Music. She specializes in musical culture in Bohemia in the 18th and 19th centuries, spiritual music in Bohemia in the 18th and 19th centuries, personalities of Czech musical culture (especially V\u00e1clav Jan Tom\u00e1\u0161, Franti\u0161ek \u0160kroup) and the history of the institution itself. She is the author of several permanent exhibitions: V\u00e1clav Jan Tom\u00e1\u0161 in Skut\u010d (since 2000), Franti\u0161ek \u0160kroup in Osice (since 2001), at the Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k Museum (1991-2012) and participated in many large exhibition projects, including international ones. Within the New Phonograph project, Mark\u00e9ta is involved in musicology and in-depth knowledge of \u010cMH&#8217;s&nbsp;internal processes and environments, and will primarily contribute to the writing of technical texts and monographs, to research and to evaluate the contents of the \u010cMH collection of audio media and to work on the methodology for establishing selection criteria for digitization.
