Description
This page introduces the variety of collaborating institutions who are involved in creating the architecture for the project. The project is coordinated by the National Museum’s research team, who are also responsible for meeting the main objectives of the project, particularly in developing, testing and exploring appropriate methodologies to protect and make available a large part of its audio collections. Co-researchers within the project – the National Library of the Czech Republic, the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and Masaryk University – are, within their specific competencies, each overseeing certain areas related to research and technology development.
Target
The main objective of the New Phonograph is, in accordance with international standards, practice and on the basis of existing research results in the field, to develop, test and implement appropriate procedures to address the complex issues of long-term protection and accessibility of audio stored on historical physical media, and the media itself. To achieve this primary goal, a number of secondary objectives must be met. Details about the project goals and visions can be found here.
